All-New Passport Powers Ahead
Introducing the all-new Passport, now fueled with even more rugged capability and powered by a next-generation 3.5L DOHC V6 engine. Featuring confidence-inspiring on-road and off-road dynamics, the 2026 Passport is ready to help you explore. Seek out tougher terrain with the most capable Honda SUV yet, coming early 2025.
Powertrain
The 2026 Passport comes standard with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine producing 285 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It uses Honda’s second-generation i-VTM4® all-wheel-drive system, giving it enhanced traction, especially in rough or slippery conditions. Ground clearance is about 8.3 inches, which helps its off-road capability and gives it a more commanding stance on uneven terrain. The Passport also offers towing capacity of up to 5,000 lbs, making it practical for boats, trailers, or other large loads.
Exterior
The 2026 model gets a boxier, more rugged redesign: wider track, shorter overhangs, a longer wheelbase (about 113.6 in) and overall larger dimensions than the previous generation. The face is bolder, with “PASSPORT” stamped on the front bumper and rear hatch for a strong presence. Roof rails are standard; TrailSport trims add styling cues like all-terrain tires, tow hooks, skid plates, and a matte black rear roof section (called “backpack” styling) to underscore its adventure-ready character.
Interior
Inside, the Passport steps up with improved material quality, simplified layout, and more comfort features standard. Heated front seats are now standard, and the driver and front passenger get power adjustment. The cabin seats five, with good front and rear legroom (front ~41.1 in, rear ~40.9 in). Cargo capacity is also generous: about 44 cubic feet behind the rear seats, expanding to roughly 83-84 cubic feet with the second row folded.
Technology
The 2026 Passport includes a features suite with Google built-in, wireless smartphone integration (Apple CarPlay/Android Auto), and a digital instrument cluster (about 10.2-inch) to display things like drive/terrain mode, pitch/roll, compass, etc. Multiple drive modes are available (Normal, Econ, Sport, Snow, Trail, Sand, Tow) so the driver can tailor performance based on conditions. Higher trims (TrailSport Elite, etc.) include off-road tuned suspension and more premium touches.
Safety & Driver Assistance
Safety is built in with the standard Honda Sensing® suite on all trims, offering adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, and automatic high beams. Other features like Trailer Stability Assist are also included. The body structure has been enhanced: the Passport is stiffer than before (especially lateral and torsional rigidity), which improves ride quality and handling stability
